Shortest boat crossing available, the perfect boat if you´re staying in North Bali! NOT suitable if you are staying elsewhere in Bali.
Kuda Hitam have been in operation for 6 years and they service the shortest route from Bali to Lombok and the Gili Islands. Departing from Amed in east Bali it only takes 1 hour 15 minutes by boat from Amed to Gili. NOTE: This is only appropriate if you are staying in northeast Bali. Kuda Hitam Express make one daily departure from Amed direct to all of the Gili Islands and Lombok. The crossing time is approx 75 minutes, dependant on sea conditions. Ticket prices include a free pick up/ drop from anywhere inbetween Tulamben and Amed and Tirtagangga. This will be at approx 07:30 in the morning for departures to Lombok and the Gilis.
This fast boat is perfect if you are staying in the northeast of Bali, but for people staying in the south or west of Bali it will involve up to a 4 hour drive so we advise using a service departing from Serangan or Padang Bai. Pick up/drop off in Candidasa will cost 275,000rp per car for up to 4 pax and is a 45 minute drive, for Ubud, Lovina and Sanur the cost is 500,000rps and its´s about a 2 and a half hour drive. Kuta, Seminyak, Legian, Airport : 550.000 idr/car max 5pax, more than 3hrs driving. Munduk is 600,000 idr/car and Pemuteran is 700,000 idr/car. All extra costs for pick up are payable directly to Kuda Hitam on the day you travel. If you´re arranging your own transport then note that checkin time is half an hour before departure time.
The boat will go directly to Gili Trawangan from Amed. After passengers have disembarked the boat will continue to Gili Air if there are guests to be dropped off or picked up. If no passengers are travelling to Gili Air the boat will go directly to Lombok before its departure for the return trip to Amed.
