Bali to Gili

Kuda Hitam Express fast boat departs from Amed Beach in the North East of Bali. This is approx a 3-4 hour drive from the main tourist area of Kuta and Seminyak making this a far more suitable a departure point for anyone planning on staying in the Tulamben or Amed region.

They provide free pick-up and return to your hotel or villa in Bali from Tulamben, Tirtagangga and Amed. If you are staying in North Bali then Amed is the best departure point for heading to the Gilis.

Pick up/drop off in Candidasa will cost 275,000rp per car for up to 4 pax and is a 45 minute drive, for Ubud, Lovina and Sanur the cost is 500,000rps and its´s about a 2 and a half hour drive. Kuta, Seminyak, Legian, Airport : 550.000 idr/car max 5pax, more than 3hrs driving. Munduk costs 600,000rps and Pemuteran costs 700,000. Extra costs for pick up or drop off in Bali are payable directly to Kuda Hitam on the day of travel.

The estimated free pick-up times for departure to Bali to Lombok and Bali to Gili will be between 07.30 - 08.00am, although depending on your location, pick-up times may vary. You will be contacted to confirm the pick-up time once you have booked. Arrival back in Bali will be at around 13:15 plus the transfer by road to your hotel. If you´re arranging your own transport to the harbour then check-in time is half an hour before departure time.

NOTE: In low season, due to operational reasons, sometimes the Pacha Express fast boat is used as a replacement vessel for Kuda Hitam (as well as the other way around). This is to ensure proper maintanance standards and capacity restrictions for the boat are met. Therefore, you may find that you travel on the Pacha with Kuda Hitam tickets. If this is the case, you will be informed by their staff, especially when returning from the Gili Islands to Bali (in order to know which boat to look out for at the harbour area on the island).

Cancellation & Amendment Policy

Kuda Hitam Express operate the following cancellations and refund policy: The full ticket price will be charged for any cancellation less than 48 hours prior to boat departure. Within a week, but outside 48hrs, 50% will be charged. For cancellations up to a week prior to departure, a full refund is allowed.

In cases of unexpected illness etc., exceptions can be considered if doctor's notes/other proof can be provided. Contact Kuda Hitam with the details found on your e-tickets. If you wish to change your travel dates, you can do so for free (subject to availability), up to 48hrs prior to departure. If you need to change your boat route or company entirely, please contact us direct for assistance, bearing in mind the above mentioned refund policy.

Note: The boat from Bali to Gili will go directly to Gili Trawangan. Depending on the passengers final destination the boat may then stop briefly on Gili Air before continuing to Lombok (Bangsal Harbour) and then returning to Bali. The cost of the trip from Bali is the same whether you are travelling to Gili Trawangan, Gili Air or Lombok.
