Available Surfing Levels at Ripcurl School of Surf
Ripcurl School of Surf has two locations in Bali. Beginners will be surfing from the location in Legian and level 2 and up will be surfing from the location in Sanur. Book your surfing class with Ripcurl and experience an excitement you’ve never felt before. Whether you're catching your first wave ever or you're looking to advance your existing skills, the professional team at Ripcurl School of Surf will make sure you’ll master many different techniques and maneuvers. No matter how far along you are with your surfing skills, there is always an opportunity to advance it. Lessons are given daily at 7:00, 8:00, 10:00 or 13:00 depending on the weather and sea conditions
2 Hour Course (No experience needed)
If you are keen to try surfing or you'd just like to get a 2 hour (group) surf lesson to enhance your skills you should go for the '2 hour Course' option. The course is available for everyone but recommended to anyone who has not surfed for a while, wants to up their game or is looking to try surfing for the first time.
Level 1 Beach Surfer (no experience needed)
The beginner course will help you to build essential knowledge and skills in 5 lessons of 2 hours. You’ll get to know the basics of the surfing techniques including paddling, popping-up, the tricks how to turn your board on a wave, wave riding stance, and the importance of safety in the ocean. After the theory part, you will become more comfortable with your surfboard and you'll be ready to catch your first wave.
Level 2 Reef Surfer (10 or more hours of surfing experience)
Take a next step forward and boost your skills by smoothing and making the sketchy cuts on your board in 5 lessons of 2 hours. Learn to control the power of the wave and stay safe in the ocean. During level 2, you'll get to know how the waves break or which movement to take if you want to make a good turn. Set up a goal and see how far you are at the end of the course.
Level 3 Power Surfer (20 or more hours of surfing experience)
Push the limit and become the power surfer by taking the advanced surfing course consisting of 5 lessons of 2 hours. Our instructors will share many interesting tips and tricks, for example how to slash the lip of the wave by driving your bottom turn or how to make to perform smooth maneuvers. By borrowing the elements of the Rip Curl Rider manual you will be able to apply the theory in practice.
Private Course (all levels 60 minutes)
If you'd rather try surfing one on one we suggest booking a private 1 hour course. You will be able to to do this course on all levels and get the guidance you need to become a better surfer. If you have a preference for a specific beach, reef or skill you want to learn, just let the guide know before your lesson.

To join this program, you must have a travel insurance, covering you for all relevant sport activities that you will be engaging in during your Holiday.

The surf lessons and courses are normally scheduled between: 7:00-9:00 AM, 8:00-10:00 AM, 10:00-12:00 AM and 1:00-15:00 PM

Free air-conditioned transfers are available from all major hotels in Legian, Seminyak, Canggu, Kuta, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, Nusa Dua, and Sanur area.

Guest services: towels, drinking water, fresh fruit, sunscreen, zinc, and first aid kit are available upon request or if necessary.

Facilities: changing rooms, student lockers, showering, Rip Curl merchandising, garden bars and parking.

Staff will receive your booking and reconfirm within 24hrs.
Cancellations and changes to your booking
- Cancellations for individual classes with more than 1 week notice will receive a full refund, minus any charges applied to make the refund (see the general Terms and Conditions for cancellation charges).
- Cancellations for individual classes with less than 1 week but more than 24 hours notice are subject to a 50% cancellation fee and to any charges applied to make the refund (see the general Terms and Conditions for cancellation charges).
- Cancellations for individual classes with less than 24 hours notice are non-refundable.
