Corona Cutter Express

NOTICE: Unfortunately, this pilot service has been cancelled and the below information is no longer current. Blue Water aims to resume services in April 2021. For the only Bali to Gili fast boat service running before then, please take a look at our sister site, Gilitickets.com

Following months of lockdown Lombok and The Gili Islands are finally opening up to visitors. Blue Water Express are testing the water in an attempt to get a regular service going between Bali and the Gilis. For a few months starting from December 21st, they will be operating on mondays, wednesdays and fridays from Serangan & Padang Bai to Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Bangsal harbour. This service is likely to operate until April 2021.  After that more regular services are expected to resume.

The boat will depart Serangan at 09:00 arriving in Padang Bai at 10:00, Lombok Bangsal at 11:45, Gili Air at 12:10 and Gili Trawangan at 12:35.  The return trip will depart from Gili Air at 12:25, Gili Trawangan at 12:50 and from Bangsal at 13:15 arriving in Padang Bai at 14:45 and back in Serangan harbour at 16:00.

Rapid test

Currently, the Balinese and Indonesian governments are considering a tentative reopning to international tourism in December. All arrivals into the country will be required to register proof of negativity for Coronavirus. Follow the latest news here.

Passengers departing from Serangan harbour or Padang Bai may further be required to provide proof that they have been tested for Covid 19 in the previous 14 days and received a negative result.  If not they may need to be tested on site while waiting to depart. Definitive protocols are pending and will be described in detail here ASAP.

A rapid test facility was previously set up to test anyone that needed testing. It is unclear whether this will be required again from December onwards, however if so, results are available within 20 minutes. Those needing a rapid test at checkin should inquire ahead whether this facility will be operating again, and arrive 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time. The test, if available, will cost IDR350,000 and remains valid for 14 days.

If you do not need a rapid test then you should arrive 1 hr 30 minutes before departure.

All pasengers are required to use a face mask at all times during checkin, testing, boarding and while on board the boat.

Hotel transfers are availalble for additional charges however we recommend taking a taxi by using the Grab app to get to Serangan or Padang Bai Harbour. This will be the cheapest way to do it. Once at harbours there are clear signs to follow to get to the Blue Water Express office for checkin.

Hotel Transfers

Hotel transfers are not included and we recomend simply using the Grab app to arrange a cheap transfer to harbours. Alternatively there are plenty of taxis to use at the moment and traffic is light.  If you still want to have a transfer arranged with Blue Water Express just fill in your hotel details during the booking process and you will receive a quote within 24 hrs.
